Are you a man between 12-50 or are you a son, brother, father, mother, spouse, or friend of someone who is? Know that. This year, an estimated 8,850 men in the United States will be diagnosed with testicular cancer. For men ages 15-44, it is the most commonly diagnosed cancer. The average age of diagnosis is 33, but 7% of cases are diagnosed in men 55 or older and 7% of cases are diagnosed in boys and adolescents.
Testicular cancer has a very fast onset. If not detected early, the cancerous tumors can grow rapidly with the ability to double in size in just 10 - 30 days.
April 1-7 is Testicular Cancer Awareness Week. (http://bit.ly/1RvdWfH). Our "Get a Grip" public awareness and education program was conceived in 1997 because of the alarming number of young men presenting advanced, incurable cases of Testicular Cancer (TC). and is designed to promote the importance of early detection through monthly self-exams and correct diagnosis.
A self-exam is easy to do in the shower once a month. In English https://bit.ly/2ISLlSK and in Spanish https://bit.ly/2G8elUN. Unchecked, testicular cancer is not a pretty picture. https://bit.ly/2G7NLLK
Testicular Cancer is one of the easiest cancers to cure IF it is detected in time. A Real Man knows himself so, protect your boys. "Get a Grip!"
